Fire District #3 Commissioners Meeting, September 22, 2026

Division Chief Jordan Pollack presented a report on the Outer Island Brigade Program.  There are currently six brigades on Brown, Henry, Johns, and Stuart Islands.  Brigades are trained in eight modules, wilderness first-aid, and in apparatus training. Stuart West will be the last to have a station.

The County Prosecuting Attorney is in negotiations with the Fire District on the repayment of Burn Permit retained fees owed to the district. Chief Monin described the district’s ‘educational approach’ to enforcement of burn permit infractions.  Commissioners agreed to consider a ‘False Alarm Fee Resolution’ to fine property owners with frequent false alarms.

The Commissioners approved adoption of district branding proposed by Asta Roseway and Mike Coryell, who presented a guiding document for graphics on fire equipment. Chief Monin explained the draft proposal for 2027 budget and changes to the 20-year Capital Plan.  Public hearings on the budget are on October 20th and November 17th, 2026.

Chief Monin reported on additional audit requirements, software contracts, and the temporary training facility site plan at Station 31.
