About the event
At the LWVWA Convention in 2023, Washington state League members voted to undertake a new study on "Caregiving in Washington State: What exists and what is needed to support seniors and other vulnerable adults and their caregivers?" On February 10th at our monthly meeting, our LWV members will review the study and determine if they agree with the findings. If so, our input will be used in finalizing a position for the Washington state and local leagues that will support advocacy on this issue.
The meeting’s featured speaker will be Anna Lisa Lindstrum. Since 2018, Ms. Lindstrum has served on the San Juan County Public Hospital #1 Board and is the current Board Chair. The Public Hospital District includes EMS and its Community Paramedicine Program, Village at the Harbor, and Village at Home, all of which address different aspects of elder care on San Juan Island.
