Encouraging Informed and Active Participation in Government
The League of Women Voters of San Juan County is a nonprofit, nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Formed one year after the national League of Women Voters was born out of the suffrage movement in 1920, the League of Women Voters has been at the forefront of numerous civic initiatives and accomplishments.
Membership
The League has approximately x members throughout San Juan County. We are a volunteer, member-driven organization; anyone over 16 years of age may become a voting member. Non-voting memberships are available to all others. Joining the League of Women Voters of San Juan County automatically confers membership at state and national levels.
